Multiple Sclerosis is a complex diseases, and the most common neurological disease affecting young adults in Canada. It attacks the protective covering of the brain and spinal cord. This can cause people a lot of pain, and some of the many disabling symptoms of MS.

A cure for this disease is not out of reach. Researchers are learning more everyday about the recovery and repair of nervous system damage. However, there is still so much we can do to help bring awareness to the importance of this cause.

The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada marks the month of May as a time to raise awareness and generate support against this disease. There are many ways you can help, including donating your facebook status, posting and printing posters , or even hosting a “Dress for MS” day! Read more HERE.

You can also help by following the MS Society Facebook and Twitter pages

You can also fight back against MS by checking out the incredible campaign F.U. MS that our amazing friend Aaron launched. In November of 1998, Aaron, who is the drummer of Canadian band Billy Talent, was diagnosed with MS. Although the diagnosis was initially shattering to Aaraon’s dreams, The MS Society of Canada helped him to gather the tools and information to get back on track. He created F.U. MS to represent his frustration toward the disease and channel his anger into hope. You can support his initiatives by checking out the F.U. MS shop here, or attending their annual F.U. MS show, where all proceeds go toward scholarships for young people affected by the disease.

What are you doing to help spread awareness this month?
